Carol Hyde becomes first managing partner of Iseman, Cunningham,
Riester & Hyde LLP:

Less than 10% of Law Firms Nationwide Have Female Managing Partner

ALBANY, NY (February 19, 2008) — Carol A. Hyde of Niskayuna, a founding partner of Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP, a law firm with offices in Albany and Poughkeepsie, was elected the firm's first managing partner at the partners' annual planning retreat held in January. The firm was formerly managed by a three-person executive committee. Less than 10 percent of the nation's law firms have a female managing partner.

Hyde practices in the areas of health care and business transactions. Her clients include hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic and treatment centers, drug and alcohol treatment centers, hospices, independent practice associations, third-party administrators, and private physicians and practitioners.

"My principal objective as managing partner is to streamline the administration of the firm so that our lawyers will have more time to devote to what they do best — practice law," said Hyde, who also represents not-for-profit organizations and closely held businesses outside the health care field, and has substantial experience in the development of health care facilities and their financing.

"The strategic direction of the firm will still be guided by the partnership as a whole, but as we continue to grow it makes sense to delegate many of the day-to-day burdens of running the firm to a single partner and to our office administrator, Mary Lawson," she added.

Admitted to practice before the courts of New York and the United States Tax Court, Hyde has lectured on contracting with physicians, the "Stark" law and fraud and abuse, confidentiality of medical records, advance directives, powers of attorney and charitable giving for various organizations, including the New York State Bar Association, the Hospital Education and Research Fund of the Healthcare Association of New York State, The Community Foundation for the Capital Region, and the New York State Ambulatory Health Care Association.

She is a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations, the American Health Lawyers Association and carries the highest rating (AV) from the Martindale-Hubbell lawyer registry, a rating based solely upon peer evaluations.

A native of Michigan, Hyde earned her general studies degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and graduated magna cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University, where she graduated first in her class.

Founded in 1991, Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP, is known for legal work on complex legal problems, disputes, and transactions for clients in several different practice areas. These include civil litigation, comprising a variety of commercial disputes and personal injury claims; health care; corporate; employment; construction; commercial real estate; insurance fraud; and, bankruptcy and workouts.
