At the Town of Washington town board meeting held on December 10, 2009, Josh Mackey was appointed as chair of the town's planning board. Mackey's appointment followed the October resignation of the town's previous planning board chair. Mackey, who resides in Millbrook, applied for a position on the planning board in 2008 in order to play an active role in the area’s planning. He began serving a seven-year term on the planning board in February of 2008. As chair of the planning board, Mackey will continue serving the same seven-year term. He will have responsibility for running meetings, executing plans, forming the board's agenda, and will also work closely with the planning board's legal consultant.
