Joshua E. Mackey, Of Counsel to the Firm, and Penny M. Hahn and Michael Nardi, Associates with the Firm, have joined The Hub. The Hub (Young Professionals of the Hudson Valley) was founded by the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce to develop an informal peer networking organization that connects young professionals to the Hudson Valley’s unique cultural, recreational, social, volunteer and professional development opportunities. The group’s mission is to better facilitate connections among the Hudson Valley’s young professional community, paying particular attention to supporting the Hudson Valley’s continued economic growth, while being proactive in contributing time to community service initiatives. Richard A. Mitchell, Partner, recently received the 2007 Marist College President’s Award for Community Service at the 40th Annual President’s Community Breakfast at Marist College. This award honors leaders of the Hudson River Valley community who personify the Marist ideals of commitment to excellence in education, dedication to the principle of service and understanding the importance of community. Rick, a Poughkeepsie native, has served on the boards of numerous community organizations, often in leadership positions, including the Area Fund of Dutchess County (now the Community Foundation of Dutchess County), the Bardavon, The Heart Association - Dutchess County Chapter, the Vassar Brothers Hospital Foundation, and the Voluntary Action Center. He is currently Board Chair for the United Way of Dutchess County where he has been involved for over 30 years. For more information please visit

Brian M. Culnan, Partner with the Firm, is a member of the Board of Trustees of Christian Brothers Academy in Albany. Founded in 1859 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, CBA is a college preparatory junior and senior high school. CBA is accredited with the New York State Board of Regents and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and its high school Junior ROTC program is recognized as an “Honor Unit With Distinction” by the United States Department of the Army. Carol A. Hyde, Partner with the Firm, is Vice Chair of the Helena Ptochia Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds to construct, equip and operate a hospital in Ghana, Africa, for women injured in childbirth.

Richard A. Frankel, Partner with the Firm, is a member of the College of St. Rose Planned Giving Committee.

Richard A. Mitchell, Partner with the Firm, is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of United Way of Dutchess County. Rick has a long history of involvement in the Dutchess County community. He has served on many boards and was chairman of the American Heart Association, Dutchess County Region, from 1990 to 1992. He also was president of the Area Fund of Dutchess County, now the Community Foundation of Dutchess County, for 1993 and 1994.

His involvement with the United Way goes back to when he returned to Poughkeepsie after law school in 1974. He has held many different jobs with the United Way over the years, including board member from 1978-1992 and 1994 to present; campaign chair in 1995, when he helped United Way raise $5.2 million; vice chairman from 2005-2006; and he is now serving a two-year term as chairman of the board from 2006-2008.

United Way of Dutchess County is a countywide organization attracting more than 2000 volunteers on an annual basis. It raises money primarily from employers and employees in the county and then allocates funds to various programs for those less fortunate in Dutchess County. Marcia B. Smith, Partner with the Firm, is a member of the Board of Directors of Wiawaka Holiday House, Inc. Wiawaka is a century old women’s retreat on Lake George. Its mission is to provide a nonsectarian retreat and educational center dedicated to enriching the lives of working women and helping disadvantaged women. 2008 Dutchess-Ulster Heart Walk. Every year the Poughkeepsie office of ICRH participates in the Dutchess-Ulster Heart Walk. It is a great opportunity to share time with co-workers outside the office and raise money for a worthy cause. Participation is vital to the American Heart Association's success in raising dollars for heart disease and stroke research and education. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease and stroke are our nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers. This year the Dutchess-Ulster walk will be held on March 8, and the fundraising goal is $500,000.00. The 2007 Justice for All Campaign which launched its campaign on October 11th, 2007 at Angelo’s 677 Prime in Albany, New York. The campaign enlists law firms and individual attorneys to support the work of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, Inc.
