Mr. Frankel practices in the areas of health care, real estate, corporate, estate planning and transactional matters. He has counseled a variety of health care-related and non-health care-related clients, including hospitals, private physicians and practitioners, contractors and individuals with respect to the full range of corporate, regulatory, contract and real estate matters. Mr. Frankel also has substantial experience in the tax-exempt financing of health care facilities, mortgage and asset-based financing for a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit entities, and acquisition structuring and financing.
He is admitted before the courts of New York and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. Mr. Frankel is a member of the New York State, Albany County and Schenectady County Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Schenectady County, Inc. In addition, Mr. Frankel serves on the Committee on Not-For-Profit Entities and Concerns of the Real Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He has lectured to various groups, including the New York State Bar Association and Albany County Bar Association, on the subjects of real estate and estate planning. Mr. Frankel is currently an adjunct faculty member at Albany Law School of Union University, where he teaches a Real Estate Transactions course to upper level law students.
Mr. Frankel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Colgate University and received his law degree (cum laude) from Albany Law School of Union University. While in law school, Mr. Frankel was a member of the Albany Law Review and was elected to the Justinian Society for academic excellence. Before entering private practice, he served a one-year clerkship with the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department.
Prior to joining Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP, in 1996, Mr. Frankel was a partner in the Schenectady law firm of Friedman, Hirschen, Miller, Coughlin & Campito, P.C. He became a partner in Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP, in 2002.
