Jeremy Root practices in the areas of corporate law, business transactions, real estate and bankruptcy. He has experience in the formation and governance of entities; commercial transactions, including asset purchases and sales; stock purchases and sales, and other transfers of ownership interests; commercial loans; and commercial real estate purchases and sales. He has also handled creditors’ rights bankruptcy matters, including adversarial proceedings, objections to disclosure statements, motions to lift the automatic stay, and filing proofs of claim.

Mr. Root is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York, and is a member of the New York State and Dutchess County bar associations.

Mr. Root earned his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Gettysburg College, and received his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. While in law school, he served as articles editor of the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion, was a member of the Rutgers Civil Practice and Community Development Clinics, and was an Academic Promise Scholar.

Prior to joining Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP, Mr. Root practiced with a Binghamton, New York, law firm in the firm’s Real Estate and Business Practice groups.
