Summary: The hospital privileges of our client, an OB/GYN, were summarily suspended in a case involving a caesarian section. The cord blood pH confirmed that the infant was not hypoxic. The infant had aspirated meconium and the pediatrician's resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful due to, among other things, a bilateral hemothorax which occurred during resuscitation. The Hearing Committee unanimously recommended reinstatement of privileges and the Medical Executive Committee confirmed that finding.
