Summary: Our client, the editor of a student newspaper, was investigating the possibility of price-gouging in the campus bookstore and sought through the New York Freedom of Information Law ("FOIL") copies of invoices for books sold in the bookstore. The court concluded that the invoices were records subject to disclosure under FOIL and ordered disclosure of the information to our client.
